The best time of the year is coming and I can't wait for it! It will be Christmas in about two months and we need to be prepared, so here is a list of trends you can't miss to be the coolest in the coolest night!

PARTIES

You will certainly be invited to a Christmas party, to spend a night out with your friends or, why not, it could be you to give a party at home. How to dress for these different occasions?

1.NIGHT OUT

The first kind of party you could attend to is the night out with your friends, maybe in a club or a disco. Here, my girl, you need sparkling, elegance and a bit of over-the-top charm. Among the season's trends there are ruffles, feathers and, obviously, sequins, plenty of them. Good news if you're not a fan of classical minidresses, because the ankle-lenght is sooo trendy for the next winter, as well as the Renaissance style.

Accessories are very important to highlight the look:
  • shoes: a pair of neon, pointed heels is a must have for your night out, especially for Christmas!
  • bag: a cute minibag is a statement piece that cannot be missing in your wardrobe.
2.PARTY AT HOME

If you're invited to a party at home, whether with friends or relatives, you need to be a little more moderate; to be so, however, you don't have to give up with style and trends! Opt for a preppy look with a plaid or patchwork design, which are staples in Winter. The 80's jackets are still on a roll, just as the previous year, as well as the corduroy suits.

Match your accessories with your outfit to make it stand out:
  • shoes: if you're wearing a dress or skinny pants, cuissardes boots are a great choice; a pair of statement pumps, instead, makes a good pairing with suits or relaxed pants.
  • bag: crossbody bags or totes are good, and remember that oversized ones are very trendy for this winter.
3.COZY CHRISTMAS

Oh well, probably my fave kind of night! Dim lights, hot chocolate and a fireplace make me the happiest person in the world. What to wear to be comfy but fashionable at the same time? There are so many options, actually. First of all, fleece. We have often see it on catwalk for the current season and it's considered really trendy. Same for the sweater: argyle design and knots on knits are probably the best choices to be cozy and cool.

Remember to pair the right accessories:
  • shoes: nothing better than a pair of fluffy and warm boots. Nothing else!
  • bag: I would choose a backpack to keep a comfy style.
OTHER TIPS

We saw, in the previous paragraph, some tips based on the party you're going to attend to. Now, I'd like to focus on some advice to keep in mind for Christmas time and more generally for this Winter.

COLOURS

I already know that you're thinking of red or silver to dress yourself for Christmas day: nothing to say, they're the colours that best fit the mood. However, there are other tones on the top: gold, lavender, yolk yellow and beige are great alternatives!

STYLES AND FABRICS

Asymmetrical necklines and puffy shoulders are the designer's preferred ways to create contrasts with feminine lines and designs, such as floral patterns. Regarding the fabrics, if we have fleece on the one hand, as we said before, on the other we have satin, another catwalks' protagonist for Fall/Winter 2019-2020.

STATEMENT PIECES

Hats are among the most popular accessories for Winter, and the more particular they are, the better. Above all, the bucket kind is the most appreciated, being it revisited with warm fabrics. Belts are another trend for the season: the cinched waist is a sought-after trait, so coats, dresses and knits look even better with a belt tied on them.

OUTERWEAR

We have three alternatives for coats, and they're all really chic. The first one is the puffer, which returns in vogue after a somewhat stagnant period; then there's the cape, one of my fave kind of outerwear. Someone might think it's not as warm as a standard coat, but if you choose a heavy fabric one and match it with a pair of good quality gloves, there's no cold to fear! Last, but not least, the ultra-long coat: unfortunately for me, being particularly short, I can't wear this trend but, if you're tall enough I highly recommend it! Do you want an extra note? If your outerwear is in brown tones, you definitely have an extra point!
