Monochromatic or fancy, white or neon coloured, the t-shirt is a staple in your wardrobe, a must-have you need to own, because they can be worn basically for any occasion in a more or less formal way. Did you know there is a t-shirt suitable for each of us?

COMFY AND PRACTICAL

The t-shirt isn't a purely summer or spring item; on the contrary, it can also be used in a layered way for winter and fall outfits. Its comfort and practicality are the characteristics that make it a must-have. I challenge you to find a wardrobe which is devoid of it, especially in recent times: printed and logoed t-shirts are widely used; the so-called grapich tees are really trendy!

TYPES

You can find lots of them, with different prints and designs; you are basically spoiled for choice. However, this can sometimes put you in troubles! For example, I haven't always been a great fan of tees, I didn't think they're suitable to my physique. Recently I realized that each of us has her own kind of t-shirt, according to her own body shape.

CHOOSE IT RIGHT

Let's take a few examples: the v-neck t-shirt is perfect for those who have a florid breast, while the polo tee shirt is the right choice for those who have a smaller chest. If you have wide shoulders it's better to avoid round necklines, which tend to enlarge the figure: in fact, these kind of necklines look good on those who have small shoulders, as well as the boat necks. If you have large hips (just like me) try to choose soft fabrics which accompany your shape; on the contrary, if you want to enhance your waist point, opt for a slightly fitted t-shirt, but be careful to extra pounds: this kind of fit could highlight flaws rather than qualities.

THE FABRIC

The fabric is the most important thing! There are shirts made of synthetic fabrics, which are usually more stretchy, but they have the defect of not letting the skin breathe (and in summer it could be a problem); on the other hand, there are those in natural cotton, which are soft but less stretchy than the first ones (but perfect during this time of the year!)

ADAPTABILITY

However, the t-shirt is essential especially for those who love minimalism and capsule wardrobe, because you can recreat many different outfits with it, from the most casual, like streetwear, to the most classic ones, like an office look wearing a tee with a blazer. I'd like to talk more about it in one of the next posts :)

    1. That's true, many people think that t-shirt is a 'universal' item: any type of it suits any type of body. Nothing could be more wrong :) Thank you so much Mel! xoxo

  2. T-shirts are very casual and simple yet they intimidate me. I always feel bigger whenever I wear t-shirts. But I have to admit they are so comfy to wear! I love how you styled this outfit Ilaria and I must say .... the way you styled your hair here totally dressed up the outfit! I wish i know how to do this hairstyle!!

    1. Yup, sometimes choosing the right t-shirt it's a hard thing! I don't know what kind of build you have, but if you want you can email me and I'll try to help! colormefall.website@gmail.com :) By the way, if you feel bigger wearing a tee, you can opt for dark colours, they really do a great job ;) The hairstyle I have in this pic is so simple: it's a high-tied half ponytail. I wore an hair tie, but the result is even better with a scrunchie! xoxo
