Luckily days are getting colder and I say it was about time! We're almost at the end of October, but I've got still a couple of outfits to show you before putting on hats & scarves. I decided to talk about a very specific question I've been often asked, so I would like to answer it in this post, to give a general response and be able to express my opinion at the best. So here's the point! The question is: can I wear the crop top?

CHARACTERISTICS

Let's start from the beginning: what is it? A crop top is nothing but a short shirt, cut above the navel. You can find them in many different types, with all kind of sleeves and design; it's up to you to choose the most suitable for your build! Yup, 'cause who decided that if you have a few extra pounds you can't wear it? I don't have a flat belly but I like them a lot and I wear them :P The only important thing is to know how to pair it!
>>>By the way, in the latest newsletter, I gave an advice on which kind of dresses is better to avoid if you have a body like mine, so if you don't wanna miss the next content, subscribe! Click here :)

These tops are great for highlighting the waist point, so very suitable for those who already have it or anyway, with some tips, can help to "create" it (for example, if you have a rectangular body shape, the crop top it's super useful). Remember if you have a big breast it's better to choose a little more contoured one, which accompanies the body shapes; if you have a medium or more delicate chest, I suggest you to focus on a stiffer fabric. Needless to say, with chubby arms - like mine - soft sleeves are good, while if you haven't this kind of problems narrow ones are fine; sleeveless kind is also great, as the bralette.

HOW TO MATCH IT

Choker - She In*
You must follow a general rule: no, no and absolutely no to the low waist, unless you're going to the beach! You must choose the high waist kind of stuff, on any occasion, from casual ones to the most elegant. The uncovered part of the belly must be of two fingers, no more! Yes to flared skirts, wide leg pants and if your strong point is the bottom part of your body, skinny jeans or sheath skirts are also great :)

What if you're curvy? No problem! :D I'm plump as you can see, but the trick is to avoid too tight tops; lean for something which accompanies your forms, but falls softly on the belly :)
IDEAS

Want to know about two combinations I like a lot for Fall? Here they are!
  • Casual look: long or short sleeves crop top, mom fit pants and denim jacket. Below, sneakers to keep a super sporty style or ankle boots with comfy heel;
  • Elegant look: bralette crop top, straight leg pants and a waisted blazer. Match a pair of pumps or Mary Jane and you'll be perfect ;)
